Remote Trauma returns from filming Extreme Dreams in Libya with Ben Fogle
11 April 2007
Remote Trauma was contracted by Ricochet television (www.ricochet.co.uk) to deliver five “One Day Travel Safety Awareness Courses” for the production teams who were tasked with filming the second series of this highly successful set of BBC programmes called “Extreme Dreams”
The series follows the well known and respected television presenter and adventurer Ben Fogle who embarks on exciting and challenging adventures with selected members of the public. Ben leads each team on arduous and extreme treks through four vastly differing environments around the world.
The first programme was filmed in a remote part of the Sahara desert in Libya. This presented major logistical difficulties for the production crew and provided some challenges when trying to develop a workable robust casualty evacuation plan. Remote Trauma was asked to provide onsite 24 hour support in Libya throughout the duration of the production. The task involved our medic accompanying on foot both the crew and Ben’s team across 180Km of various desert terrain in temperatures reaching 39°C. The production was a success with both the crew capturing the footage they wanted and the participants experiencing an adventure beyond their wildest dreams.
