Crashing half a car in to the delicate fabric of a 13th century old building proved a huge draw for more than 50 broadcasters, commissioning editors and heads of production and legal from the indie sector at the recent Remote Trauma showcase.
The Old Court Room at Lincoln's Inn was filled to capacity as Remote Trauma's Managing Director Alex Bohanna and Terry Jewell from the UK Fire and Rescue service recreated the aftermath of a remote location accident. The subsequent, theoretical conducted by a practicing barrister prompted queries about remote and overseas filming from the likes of ITV, Discovery, Darlow Smithson, RDF, Love Productions, Tiger Aspect and Endemol.
A panel of experts including the Health and Safety Executive faced a barrage of questions about the liability for camera crews and on location production teams as well as senior management when filming in far flung places around the globe.
